Ultra-flat hard-shell rooftop tent for two people
The CUMARU LIGHT 127 in grey is a triangular aluminium hard-shell rooftop tent for up to two people. Its low-profile hard shell, straightforward folding mechanism and practical interior features make the rooftop tent a comfortable retreat for journeys involving frequent changes of location.
When closed, the CUMARU LIGHT 127 is only 15.7 cm high. The solid hard shell protects the folded tent while travelling without requiring an additional fabric cover. The grey tent fabric and black rainfly complement the clean design with the VICKYWOOD print on the hard shell.
Approx. 74 kg excluding the separately transported ladder
The CUMARU LIGHT 127 weighs approximately 74 kg excluding the ladder. The detachable black aluminium ladder is transported separately inside the vehicle while travelling and is therefore not included in the stated rooftop tent weight.
Before installation, check your vehicle’s permitted dynamic roof load as well as the load capacity and suitability of the crossbars used. Two roof bars are recommended for the CUMARU LIGHT. The distance between the mounting rails is approximately 80.5 cm; at least 84 cm is required between the plastic feet of the crossbars.
Sleeping area and interior space
The sleeping area measures 120 × 210 cm and accommodates up to two people. When open, the rooftop tent reaches a maximum interior height of 135 cm. The exterior dimensions are 225 × 127 cm when open; when closed, the tent measures 225 × 127 × 15.7 cm.
A 6 cm memory foam mattress with a water-repellent cover provides the sleeping surface. A mesh underlay beneath the mattress supports ventilation. As there is no space for bedding inside the closed rooftop tent, it must be removed before folding and stored separately.
Setup with STABILUS gas struts
To set up the tent, first release the two buckles on the hard shell. STABILUS gas struts then assist with opening and raising the tent. The CUMARU LIGHT can be set up in approximately 2–3 minutes with just a few simple steps.
Packing it away follows the same straightforward triangular principle. As no separate fabric cover needs to be pulled over the closed hard shell, additional steps when packing away the rooftop tent are eliminated.
Lighting, ventilation and storage
Fine-mesh mosquito nets at all openings keep insects outside while allowing the interior to be ventilated. Two dimmable LED lights with a USB connection provide adjustable lighting in the evening.
Various compartments and storage pockets help keep smaller items organised and within easy reach. Additional pockets in the roof lining and a transparent tablet holder provide further storage options. Two large shoe bags offer a dedicated place for footwear away from the sleeping area.
Materials and weather protection
The hard shell is made from 6000-series aluminium. The base features a particularly lightweight honeycomb construction. The grey tent fabric is made from recycled ripstop polyester with a fabric weight of 320 g/m².
The tent fabric has a PU coating and a hydrostatic head of 5,000 mm. The black rainfly is made from PU-coated 600D polyester Oxford fabric, provides UV50+ protection and has a hydrostatic head of 3,000 mm. SBS zips complete the construction.
Optionally expandable equipment
Separately available accessories allow you to adapt the CUMARU LIGHT 127 to your vehicle and travel plans. Available options include additional crossbars for the hard shell, a compatible awning, an annex, a thermal inner tent and a telescopic ladder extending up to 260 cm.
When selecting an annex, thermal inner tent or other accessories, check that they are explicitly compatible with the CUMARU LIGHT 127.
