The BIG WILLOW 4.0 is an earthy-yellow folding rooftop tent with three sleeping widths, an optimised folding mechanism and well-designed equipment.

Variant-specific weight
The 160 model weighs approximately 68 kg including the ladder & mattress, while the 180 model weighs approximately 76 kg. Additionally required vehicle crossbars must be considered when checking the dynamic roof load.
Three generous sleeping areas
The 160 model provides 160 × 240 cm for up to three people, while the 180 model provides 180 × 240 cm for up to four people. The 220 model offers a 220 × 240 cm sleeping area.
Optimised folding mechanism
Gas struts at the covered entrance assist the folding mechanism. Elastic cords, straps and pull straps guide the tent fabric inwards in a controlled manner during closing.
Improved water drainage
The angled pole construction supports rainwater drainage and reduces water pooling on the tent fabric.
Comfortable sleeping area
The 6 cm thick memory foam mattress and rubberised aluminium honeycomb floor panel support sleeping comfort, insulation and protection against dents.

2 shoe bags included – stored outside, cosy inside

Practical: Your tent comes with two shoe bags. This means you do not have to leave your shoes on the ground in the rain, mud or wet grass — and you still do not have to take them into the sleeping area.

Your shoes stay protected by the tent, within easy reach in the morning, while the interior remains clean. No sand on the mattress. No dirt inside the tent. Simply arrive, take off your shoes and get comfortable.

Additional insect protection

Simply attach the tensioning rod and tighten the elastic cord – and your tent is securely protected from unwanted insects.

Removable side windows for maximum flexibility

In good weather, you can remove both windows to let even more light into the tent! When it rains, simply zip them back on and prop them open.

Gas struts & optimized folding design – easier to open, neatly closed

The side-mounted gas struts assist with setup and reduce the effort required when opening the tent. This makes the tent easy to unfold — even after a long drive or when you need to set up quickly.

When packing down, the optimized folding design guides the tent fabric neatly inwards and allows it to fold away cleanly. No overlapping layers of fabric, no unnecessary tucking and no frantic rearranging.

BIG WILLOW 4.0 – the evolved folding rooftop tent with generous space

The earthy-yellow BIG WILLOW 4.0 combines the proven space concept of a folding rooftop tent with an optimised folding mechanism, improved water drainage and a well-organised interior. Two sleeping widths provide space for up to three or four people, depending on your requirements.

Two sizes for different space requirements

BIG WILLOW 4.0 160

The 160 model offers a 160 × 240 cm sleeping area for up to three people. It weighs approximately 68 kg including the ladder and mattress. When open, the rooftop tent measures approximately 245 × 165 cm; when closed, it measures approximately 165 × 125 cm.

BIG WILLOW 4.0 180

The 180 model extends the sleeping area to 180 × 240 cm and accommodates up to four people. It weighs approximately 76 kg including the ladder and mattress. When open, this version measures approximately 245 × 185 cm; when closed, it measures approximately 185 × 125 cm.

Both sizes reach a maximum interior height of approximately 115 cm. The external height of the closed rooftop tent, including the profile and excluding the ladder, is approximately 32 cm. When the ladder is transported on the closed tent, the external height increases to approximately 38 cm.

Optimised folding mechanism

Gas struts at the covered entrance assist the folding mechanism during setup and packing away. Additional elastic cords and straps inside and outside guide the tent fabric inwards in a controlled manner during folding. Two pull straps help compress the fabric and prevent it from overlapping or becoming trapped.

Pole construction for improved water drainage

The angled pole construction supports controlled rainwater drainage and reduces water pooling on the tent fabric. A separate rainfly provides additional protection from rain and sun.

Large windows and an open feeling of space

Large windows, detachable side windows and two roof windows bring plenty of daylight and fresh air into the interior. A convertible panel in the overhang can open up the view outside. Fine-mesh mosquito nets on the openings keep insects out.

When used with a compatible annex, the convertible panel allows daylight into the entrance area even when the overhang is closed. This creates a bright transition between the rooftop tent and the additional ground-level space.

Memory foam mattress and insulating floor panel

The 6 cm thick memory foam mattress with a polyester cover provides comfortable support while sleeping. A mesh underlay beneath the mattress helps manage condensation. The aluminium honeycomb floor panel has a rubberised surface that contributes to insulation and protects the floor panel against dents.

Well-designed storage and interior lighting

Two large shoe bags, several interior pockets and organisers, a cargo net on the unfolded tent floor and loops for attaching accessories provide dedicated storage for personal items. A dimmable 100 cm LED light strip with warm and cool white light and a USB-C connection provides flexible interior illumination in the evening.

Detachable aluminium ladder

The black aluminium ladder is approximately 230 cm long and has a maximum load capacity of 150 kg. It is detachable and comes with a storage bag. A telescopic ladder extending to 260 cm is optionally available for taller vehicles.

Robust materials

The tent fabric is made from recycled, PU-coated ripstop polyester with a weight of 320 g/m². The rainfly is made from 600D Oxford polyester and provides UV 50+ and a 3,000 mm water column. A cover made from 1000G PVC tarpaulin fabric protects the closed rooftop tent during travel. SBS zips complete the construction.

Compatible annex and thermal inner tent

The BIG WILLOW 4.0 can be extended with a compatible annex. The selected sleeping width of 160 or 180 and the intended vehicle height must be considered. The annex creates additional sheltered space for a seating area, camping kitchen or storage. A size-specific thermal inner tent is also available for cooler nights.
