Ultra-flat hard-shell rooftop tent for flexible travel
The CUMARU LIGHT is a triangular aluminium hard-shell rooftop tent for up to two people. Its low-profile design and straightforward folding mechanism make it particularly practical when you change locations frequently while travelling and want to open or close your rooftop tent without complicated additional steps.
The tent is available in sizes 127 and 152 and in grey and earthy-yellow. This allows you to select the sleeping area width and weight that best suit your vehicle and space requirements.
Two sizes for your personal setup
The CUMARU LIGHT 127 offers a sleeping area of 120 × 210 cm and weighs approximately 74 kg excluding the ladder. The CUMARU LIGHT 152 provides a sleeping area of 145 × 210 cm. This version weighs approximately 83 kg excluding the ladder.
Both sizes reach a maximum interior height of approximately 135 cm when open. When closed, the aluminium hard shell is only 15.7 cm high, keeping the additional structure on the vehicle roof pleasantly low.
The removable aluminium ladder is transported separately while travelling and is therefore not included in the stated rooftop tent weights. Before installation, the permitted dynamic roof load of the vehicle as well as the load capacity and suitability of the roof bars should be checked for the selected version.
Setup assisted by gas struts
To set up the tent, first release the two buckles on the hard shell. STABILUS gas struts then assist with opening and raising the rooftop tent. The CUMARU LIGHT can be set up in approximately 2–3 minutes with just a few simple steps.
The simple triangular design also makes packing the tent away easier. As no additional fabric cover needs to be pulled over the closed rooftop tent, handling remains straightforward. However, bedding cannot remain inside the tent when it is closed and must be stored separately.
Sleeping comfort and a pleasant sense of space
The interior features a 6 cm memory foam mattress with a water-repellent cover. The mesh underlay beneath the mattress supports ventilation between the mattress and the tent base.
Fine-mesh mosquito nets at the openings keep insects outside while allowing the interior to be ventilated. Two dimmable, warm-white LED light strips with a USB connection provide adjustable lighting in the evening.
Practical interior organisation
Storage pockets in the roof lining provide space for smaller items that should remain easily accessible inside the tent. The organiser is complemented by a transparent tablet compartment. Two large shoe storage bags help keep footwear neatly organised outside the tent.
Robust aluminium construction
The hard shell is made from aluminium and features the distinctive VICKYWOOD print. The tent base has an aluminium honeycomb construction. When closed, the solid hard shell protects the folded tent while travelling without requiring an additional cover.
The outer tent is made from recycled ripstop polyester fabric with a PU coating and a hydrostatic head of 5,000 mm. The rainfly is made from PU-coated 600D polyester Oxford fabric and provides UV50+ protection and a hydrostatic head of 3,000 mm.
Adaptable to your travels with optional accessories
The CUMARU LIGHT can be expanded with separately available accessories. These include crossbars for the hard shell, a compatible awning, an annex, a thermal inner tent and a telescopic ladder extending up to 260 or even 320 cm.
These accessories allow you to create additional sheltered space, adapt the equipment to different temperatures or make access easier on taller vehicles. When selecting accessories, check the correct size and compatibility with your vehicle.
